Being a binder for over a decade, and finally getting around to learning about art, specifically pen & ink and watercolour, I decided to make my own sketchbooks. I started making them in the simplest form, the way I made my albums – hard cover, sharp corners, regular store bought watercolour papers. Eventually I started realising that sketchbooks can and should look good, and that there are ways to make them not only beautiful and unique, but also purposeful. The simplest form of sketchbooks would be the ones you see in the shop page – the sketch and the watercolour sketchbooks.

I’ve always loved all things simple, as you can see in the way I make all my albums and various other keepsakes. While there are multiple album makers out there making covers from acrylic materials (calling them crystal covers) several years ago, I (and many today) have found them to look dated and old. This is the reason why I hardly veer from making the simplest of covers, a simple, single line imprint, which after so many years still look and feel timeless.
